Q. What is d-Limonene?

A. When pressing an orange for juice extraction, some orange oil is also expelled. This oil is commonly called food grade d-Limonene or orange terpenes. It contains a minimum of 95% d-Limonene.

Q. What does natural mean? Are GreenTerpene products 100% natural?

A. Currently, there is no industry standard definition for natural cleaners. Our goal in developing the entire line of GreenTerpene natural cleaners is to use only materials that are renewable and efficacious. That’s why our d-limonene is extracted solely from domestic Florida oranges. And since it's 100% natural, it's better for the environment too.

Q. Do GreenTerpene products disinfect?

A. Not yet. But our scientists are focused on evaluating the disinfecting power of natural ingredients. We hope to incorporate disinfecting claims into GreenTerpene products in the future.

Q. What is the difference between food grade and high purity d-Limonene?

A. Once extracted, the "food grade d-Limonene" is purified by fractionation.  The resulting product, high purity d-limonene contains a minimum of 98.5% d-limonene. Food grade d-Limonene contains a minimum of 95% d-Limonene.

Q. Why does d-limonene have to be diluted with water?

A. d-Limonene and other terpenes alike are very powerful cleaners. Some applications may require that you use our product undiluted, while many will require about 1 part d-Limonene to 20 parts water.
