Q. How much d-Limonene does GreenTerpene Cold Pressed Oil Contain? A.
GreenTerpene Cold Pressed Orange Oil contains a between 90.0% to 95.0%
d-Limonene. GreenTerpene Food Grade d-Limonene contains a minimum of

Q. Are GreenTerpene cleaning products soluble in water?A.
GreenTerpene Products do not contain any emulsifiers, surfactants, or soaps, and therefore are not soluble in water. All GreeneTerpene Products are 100% pure, natural, and additive free. GreenTerpene Products such as d-Limonene are most effective when used without an emulsifier or surfactant, and blended straight with water. Q. Can GreenTerpene d-Limonene or GreenTerpene Orange Oil be used for termite or insect control, as a pesticide, insecticide, or a fungicide?

d-Limonene is not registered for food or feed crop uses as an active ingredient, but can be used on compost and manure. As an inert ingredient, d-Limonene can be applied to agricultural crops.
[EPA]
Q. Is there anywhere in the United States where d-Limonene is exempt from EPA registration as an active ingredient?
A. No, d-Limonene is subject to registration by the EPA for use as an active ingredient in a pesticide.
The EPA has granted d-Limonene an exemption from the requirement of a tolerance when it is an inert ingredient used as a solvent or fragrance in pesticide formulations.
[EPA]
Q. Is there anywhere in the United States where d-Limonene is exempt from EPA registration when used as an inert ingredient?
A. In 40 CFR Part 180, the US EPA has granted d-Limonene an exemption from tolerance when used as an inert in pesticide formulations. This means that the EPA has examined the possible environmental and health impacts of using d-Limonene as a carrier or fragrance in pesticides and found that no risks exist for this usage. This allows d-Limonene to be used in pesticide formulations at any level without having to meet any residue tolerances requirements.
In many cases d-Limonene can act as the majority carrier solvent for pesticides as they are applied to crops and animals. While this does not allow for the claim of d-Limonene as the actual pesticide, it does allow for formulations to be made with d-Limonene as the carrier, or as a fragrance, instead of other solvents which may accumulate in the environment. In this manner, pesticide formulation using d-Limonene may be more environmentally preferable than other formulations. [EPA]

It is present in baked goods, ice cream products, gelatins, puddings and chewing gum at levels ranging from 68 to 2300 ppm.

Is d-Limonene safe to use around children? Should special considerations be taken for infants and children?
A.
At this time, there is no concern for potential sensitivity to infants and children. Based on the data from the study reviewed in the RED (EPA, 1994) and the various teratogenicity and embryotoxicity studies reviewed in the WHO study (1998), it is now again concluded that limonene is not a developmental toxicant. Therefore, a safety factor analysis has not been used to assess the risk. For the same reason, the additional tenfold safety factor is unnecessary, and has been removed.
[EPA]Q.
What is Technical Grade d-Limonene? Does GreenTerpene sell Technical Grade d-Limonene?
A. Technical Grade d-Limonene and GreenTerpene Food Grade or High Purity d-Limonene vary immensely. Technical Grade d-Limonene is produced by steam distilling a puree of spent orange peels (peels that have already had Orange Oil and d-Limonene extracted from them) and water. (See diagram below) Technical grade d-Limonene is often un-standardized and therefore d-Limonene contents may vary from 60%-90% d-Limonene. Technical Grade d-Limonene can at times also have a stale or foul smell, and may vary in color from pale-yellow to yellow to amber-yellow (Gardner Color). As a result, GreenTerpene does not to offer technical grade d-Limonene.
